Romances

Three series, comprising some 78 programmes, which focus principally on the tangled love lives of such Hollywood legends as Humphrey Bogart and Lauren Bacall and John Wayne and Marlene Dietrich. Other entries include Betty Grable and Harry James, Greta Garbo and John Gilbert and Laurence Olivier and Vivien Leigh .

Secrets of WW2

Twenty-six hour-long programmes which look at some of the lesser-known aspects of the conflict. They include the Nazi plan to  sabotage US war industry,  the Japanese attempt to set America’s forest ablaze with a fleet of trans-Pacific incendiary balloons, and the story of the last days of Adolf Hitler.

Spies and Spying

Another 26-part series, each programme lasting an hour, which examines all the major aspects of espionage in the 20^th century, from the  Cold War and  the Cambridge spies to the Allied codebreakreakers who cracked German and Japanese codes in World War 2.

Great Mysteries

A kaleidoscope of mysteries from UFOs to the mysterious disappearance of Glenn Miller and the tragic fate of the South Korean airliner 007.

Robin has written books and websites for Channel 4 programmes, including many   entries in the ' Secret History' and 'Battle Stations' series.
